Recent investigations show that noise control methods can improve noise reduction capabilities of aircraft-type windows in the low-frequency region. Being a privileged path for external noise transmission and one of the main causes of high interior noise levels in a treated aircraft, a proper design of the aircraft window can significantly contribute to the reduction of cabin noise levels with a minimum impact on the aircraft mass and performances.
The noise policies adopted by national governments in relation to major airports mainly focus on reducing the level of noise exposure and the number of people who are exposed. However, there is no one-on-one relationship between noise exposure and noise annoyance. As from the statistics of national governments, only 18% of the variance in noise annoyance. The one-third of the variation in noise annoyance can be explained by acoustic factors e.g. the sound level, peak levels, sound spectrum, and number of noise events.
So the main theme in this report would be study about the sound reduction controls and the ways to reduce the noise annoyance.
